Bizz Media ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Bizz TV mobile application (the "App") on iOS and Android. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide to us
- Account information. When you create an account, you provide an email address, password, and optional display name. Passwords are never stored in plain text — authentication is handled by Google Firebase Authentication.
- Chat messages. When you send a message in the in-app chat, the message text, your display name, and the timestamp are stored in our database so other users can see it.
- Profile updates. If you change your display name in the Profile screen, the new name is saved to your account.
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Push notification token. If you opt in to notifications, the App requests an anonymous push token from Expo's notification service so we can send you breaking-news alerts. The token does not contain personal information.
- Device type. The App detects whether it is running on a physical device or an emulator in order to request a push token. No device identifiers are stored.
1.3 Information we do not collect
- We do not collect your location.
- We do not access your camera, microphone, contacts, photos, or files.
- We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Authenticate you and keep your account secure
- Display the in-app chat and identify message authors
- Send push notifications for breaking news (only if you opt in)
- Improve the App and respond to support requests
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone.
3. Third-Party Services
The App relies on the following third-party services. Each service has its own privacy policy:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore database) — firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- Expo Push Notifications — expo.dev/privacy
- Bizz Media News Feed (data.bizzmedia.biz) — public news content, no user data sent
- Bizz Media Live Stream (stream.bizzmedia.biz) — HLS video stream, no user data sent
4. Data Retention
- Account data is retained as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time (see Section 7).
- Chat messages are retained indefinitely unless you request deletion.
- Push tokens are retained until you disable notifications or uninstall the App.
5. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
6. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including HTTPS for all network requests and Firebase's built-in authentication security. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information (you can edit your display name in the App)
- Delete your account and associated data
- Withdraw consent for push notifications (disable in your device settings or the App's Profile screen)
To request account or data deletion, email us at bizzmediatt@gmail.com with the subject line "Delete my Bizz TV account". We will process the request within 30 days.
8. International Users
The App is operated from Trinidad and Tobago. If you use the App from outside Trinidad and Tobago, your information will be transferred to and processed on servers operated by Google (Firebase) and Expo, which may be located in the United States or other countries.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated through the App or by email.
